How DOGEgov works
A live transparency lens over Australia's open-data catalogue.

Every dataset shown is fetched live from data.gov.au via its public CKAN API (/api/3/action/package_search). We do not host, cache or transform the underlying data — we search, list, and link back.
Categories
- Federal — "portfolio budget statements", "commonwealth expenditure", "final budget outcome"
- State — jurisdiction name + "budget expenditure"
- Indigenous — "indigenous expenditure", "closing the gap", "NIAA"
- AI in government — "artificial intelligence", "machine learning", "automation" + APS workforce
Caveats
- Coverage reflects what agencies choose to publish on data.gov.au. Not every budget line appears there.
- Result counts are CKAN keyword matches, not curated totals.
- Datasets carry their own licences (mostly Creative Commons Attribution) — check each before republishing.
- Programme spending on Indigenous services often flows through general portfolio budgets, so category totals under-count real outlays.
